 The
Castle was built in 1475 by the lords of Sainte Maure. The will of both
the new hosts and talented craftmen,who combined their efforts, gave back its former prestige to the
Castle , in respect of art and history, whilst giving it all the comfort
that a 20th Century guest would expect and appreciate at this charming
stop.
Come and see
the tapestries of yesteryear woven in the traditional way of the
prestigious House of Roze in Touraine, the 1760s bathroom furnitures
carved in the Pouzay Church's spire, the park lightings enhanced by Pierre
Bideau, a lighting engineer whose fame went beyond the frontiers, and the
stained-glass windows signed by glass-artist Lobin in 1968.
The Castle has been open as an hotel of charm since July 1998, a relaxing
place of peace and harmony, reflecting the ensign Châteaux et Hôtels
de France".
