Postal Services

The post offices of the PTT are usually open from 8am till 9pm (Monday-Friday) and from 8am till 12am on Saturday. The main post office is located on Rue du Louvre 52 (1). It is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Despite the common European currency, each country decides for itself what the postal charges are and prints its own stamps.  Although they’re all based on the same currency, they are only valid in the country in question. So you can’t use Belgian or Dutch stamps abroad.  In France there’s one tariff for letters and post cards, which amounts to approximately 50 eurocent.
