Look out for pickpockets in underground corridors and on busy markets or boulevards. Professional thieves can smell a tourist a mile away! They will shamelessly try and take advantage of any language problems or insecurity, especially if you don’t know your way around.

Do be careful in the red light districts around Montmartre. Romance and ‘faire l’amour’ (making love) have been swept away to make room for peepshows and hard core pornography.
