This ‘Arch of the Future’ was inaugurated in 1989, and is one of
the most controversial of all buildings that President Mitterrand
erected for himself. This brandnew Paris attraction is seen as a
futuristic continuation of the historical royal axis from the Louvre via
Place de la Concorde to this triumphal arch. The viewing platform offers
a gigantic panorama across the city. Inside the arch exhibitions are
regularly staged.
