The ancient village on a hill to the north of Paris was once the abode of many a penniless artist. The ghosts of Vincent Van Gogh, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Auguste Renoir and Pablo Picasso are still haunting the old streets. Today Montmartre is primarily a tourist attraction. Many Parisians think it very fashionable living here
