This mighty building with its dome and Corinthian columns is above
all the work of the Parisian master builder Jacques-Germain Soufflot. It
is one of the most important expressions of French classicism.
Originally the church of Sainte-Geneviève, the building became a
mausoleum for deserving Frenchmen after the Revolution.
